Frequently asked questions
What does the build advisor produce?
It turns your requirements — purpose, speed, range, payload and budget — into a full component specification with compatibility warnings, exportable as a shopping list or PDF.
In what order should design decisions be made?
Purpose first, then payload, then required flight time. Those three set prop diameter; prop diameter sets motor size and KV; the motor sets the ESC and battery; the frame comes last. Starting from a frame or a part you liked is the most common first-build mistake.
How realistic are the range figures?
Advertised range is measured in ideal conditions with no interference and clear line of sight. In signal-dense urban areas expect a fraction of the published number, and design on the assumption that the aircraft stays within your visual line of sight.
